Why PlatePlus number plate holders?
So why did we create PlatePlus? Well, as designers we just felt that existing number plate solutions were falling a bit short, and they weren’t making the most of their highly visible, prime position.
Number plate solutions just didn’t provide businesses, clubs and charities with a great deal of scope for customisation and communication, and in some cases didn’t provide the number plate with sufficient protection either.
Consider the alternatives below
In each case, only a supplier or dealer name and postcode and British Standard number can be displayed on-plate, and this is limited to a height of just 10mm.
Number plate only
Number plate edges are not protected from the risk of chipping and water ingress. Drilling through the plate to fix with screws only causes more damage. There is no smart black border.
Number plate surround
Number plate edges are protected from the risk of chipping and water ingress with a smart black border.
Lipped number plate
The lip provides an additional fixed message space off-plate, typically measuring 390mm x 20mm. Again, printing can be expensive and the number plate edges are not protected from the risk of chipping and water ingress. Drilling through the plate to fix with screws only causes more damage. There is no smart black border.
Number plate strip
The stick-on strip provides an additional fixed message space off-plate, typically measuring 390mm x 20mm. Once more, printing can be expensive and the number plate edges are not protected from the risk of chipping and water ingress. Drilling through the plate to fix with screws only causes more damage. There is no smart black border.
Number plate holder with message strip
Off-plate, the holder provides an additional message strip which can be digitally printed in a four-colour UV ink process and updated. Number plate edges are protected from the risk of chipping and water ingress with a smart black border.
The PlatePlus holder
The best of all worlds. Off-plate, the holder provides an additional 45mm x 102mm space for a logo or a badge, as well as a 512mm x 20mm message strip. Both are easy to digitally print in a four-colour UV ink process and can be updated at any time. Number plate edges are protected from the risk of chipping and water ingress with a smart black border.
